As the golden hues of October painted the Tuscan hills, my journey began with a visit to our artisans—the heart and soul of Arteana. In their workshops, I had the privilege of reviewing samples for our upcoming AW25 collection. Seeing their extraordinary attention to detail and dedication reminded me why their work is integral to our vision. Each stitch, every hand-painted finish, spoke of their mastery and our shared commitment to timeless elegance.
After a week steeped in craftsmanship, I ventured to Rome for a weekend, eager to reconnect with an old and cherished friend. The Eternal City welcomed us with its timeless charm, a place where every cobblestone and corner whispers tales of history.
Our days were filled with endless walks, exploring Rome’s historic wonders. We marveled at the grandeur of the Colosseum, stood in awe beneath the intricate ceilings of the Pantheon, and let the steps of the Spanish Steps guide our conversations. In between, we found moments of quiet respite in the city’s beautiful gardens, like Villa Borghese and its surrounding park, where the rustling leaves and distant hum of fountains created an oasis of calm. We also took in the splendor of Palazzo Colonna, its grand halls and exquisite art offering a window into Rome’s rich history. One of the highlights was wandering through Trastevere—crossing the river and exploring its vibrant streets filled with life and character.
Evenings were reserved for indulging in la dolce vita. At Bar Lorcano, we sipped drinks on a rooftop with a breathtaking view of Rome’s skyline, watching the city bathed in golden light. We savored pasta at Due Ladroni, where each bite reminded us of the beauty of simplicity done exceptionally well. For dessert, Crema | Alta Gelateria on Via Giulia 18 became an unexpected delight. This street, tucked away from the tourist crowds, felt like a secret treasure—a quiet, beautiful stretch of Rome perfect for those looking to discover something new.
Our explorations didn’t stop there. We wandered through bustling antique markets, uncovering treasures that seemed to carry the spirit of their previous owners. Mercato Piazza delle Coppelle, with its lively atmosphere, was a delight to browse. For more curated finds, Antichità Alessandra di Castro and Nanova Antiquariato offered unique pieces that echoed Rome’s timeless elegance.
This trip, though brief, reaffirmed a truth I hold dear: that elegance is not only in what we see but in how we experience and connect. Rome, with its blend of grandeur and intimacy, felt like a reflection of the very principles we infuse into Arteana—crafting beauty from moments and memories.
